Students Across Borders welcomes Hispanic and other minority high school students in their sophomore and junior years to the University of Arizona campus for Earth science studies of their natural environment. The program is designed to nurture the Earth science interests of these students, mentor them through the college application process, and a successful undergraduate career. Our vision is to empower students to change their fortunes by guiding them through borders that often separate them from success in higher education and careers in science. We hope that the Students Across Borders Program can serve as a model for engaging Hispanic students on both sides of the international border in Earth science and providing these students an introduction to the global economy.
