Students > 2003 Program

With funding secured from ExxonMobil Corporation, the Geosciences department was able to conduct the first week-long workshop of the Students Across Borders program in June of 2003. The SAB program brought 12 high school juniors to the campus of the University ofArizona for a weeklong program of field trips and technology training.

The summer 2003 (June 8-14) week-long workshop featured field trips, exercises and tours during which student/teacher teams engaged in inquiry-based investigations of Earth and environmental sciences in southern Arizona. In addition to the university residence experience that familiarizes students with college life and provides skills and guidance for success in high education.

A one page handout on the first year is available in pdf format. This poster was presented by Bob Butler. Poster (pdf)
